Although born in Ghana, FAB initiated his artistic career in Oshogbo, Nigeria. He started as an actor in Duro Ladipo's theater (as did Rufus Ogundele), but he turned to art after participating in a workshop organized by Georgina Beier in 1964. FAB is perhaps best known for his early collages made of yarn. Here, the undulating lines and energetic patterns of his urban landscape aptly capture the vitality of Benin City.
