Sheet brass increased in availablity after an 1892 treaty. It was used by the caster's guild to create bracelets, costume ornaments, boxes and other objects for the court. Motifs are related to those on cast copper alloy pieces but are looser in design. Additionally, as a material the sheet brass had less status overall than the cast examples.
Description:
Sheet brass cuff bracelet composed of three tiers of vertical panels, alternating standing stylized human figure and curving foliate patterns. The bracelet is made using the repoussé technique.
