Description:
An Arbeidernes TIF (Workers' Gymnastics and Sports Association) medal owned by Eulace Peacock. The gold toned medal is shield shaped, and is hanging from a bar by two (2) chains. The medal consists of gold toned bar pin with a “C” clasp closure holding a red ribbon with two (2) white and one (1) blue stripes, and a medal suspended from two (2) short chains. The medal has a white enamel shield on the front, surrounded by a gold toned, relief laurel wreath. The shield in inlaid with white enamel. There is blue inlaid text at the top of the shield [T·I·F] and a date in gold text below [30·6·1909]. On either side on the shield is an abstract, geometric depiction of two (2) red and gold enameled eagles linked by a square knot at the bottom of the shield. On the back of the bar is a stamped maker’s mark that reads [BRILLANT / 830 S]. The reverse of the medal, near the bottom edge, is an additional stamped maker’s mark that reads [BRILLANT / 830 S]..
