Description:
A digital illustration by Sekou Cooke as part of the collage studies from “We Outchea: Hip-Hop Fabrications and Public Space.” The 2-D digital rendering is a black-and-white outline of public housing complexes Judge Langston C. McKinney Manor and Pioneer Houses in Syracuse, New York. The top view captures the public houses west of Interstate-81 with Wilson Park in the lower right corner presented as a square with only two structures. On top of the public housing outline are white horizontally laid rectangular structures with smaller, vertically laid rectangular structures across the middle of the digital illustration. All throughout are small, orange squared shaped structures.
When installed, the collage studies comprise a 3x3 grid of nine different illustrations, with this illustration placed in the top left corner.
