Description:
This is the “Classic Translucency ring” designed and created by jeweler Art Smith. The ring's wide and flat sterling silver band is open-ended at the base and has a large, oval shaped bridge. The large, grayish, translucent cabochon of chalcedony is smoothly polished into an oval shape. The chalcedony is vertically set in a bezel setting, encased in metal overlapping the edges of the gemstone. It is placed inside another metal setting created from a flattened and rounded piece of metal. There is a slight fold in the metal near one of the ends of the oval. The ring has one hallmark on the bridge, Smith’s signature [Art Smith].
