Description:
A yellow bone china mug from the Wedgwood X Sheila Bridges collaboration, featuring the dancing vignette from Bridges' Harlem Toile de Jouy design.
This a round, yellow mug with tall straight sides and a curved handle. On one side is a vignette of a man and woman dancing in front of a triumphal arch. They both wear 18th century clothing and have kicked off their shoes to dance barefoot. The man’s body faces the viewer as her holds his right arm in the air and hold his left hand out towards the woman. The woman is dancing with her left arm raised and her right arm stretched out to meet the man’s left hand. Her skirt is partially tucked up and her head is thrown back as she dances. To the left of the couple is a large boombox. The only spots of color in the otherwise grey-toned design is the bright blue of the man’s knee-length pants and the woman’s shoes discarded on the ground. On the other side of the mug is a single blue shoe in the grass. The underside of the mug has a backstamp design of a boombox in the grass and another single blue shoe. There is printed black text in the center that reads [WEDGWOOD / X / SHEILA BRIDGES / Bone China / Dishwasher Safe].
