A color photograph of the 1963 March on Washington by James P. Blair. The image depicts a large crowd covering the Mall in front of the Washington Monument. The Washington Monument appears in the background, surrounded by a ring of flagpoles flying the American flag. The large, dense crowd is made up of men and women most of whom are looking in the same direction, towards the bottom right corner of the image. The print is signed by the photographer at the lower left corner and labeled [2 of 9]. A caption by the photographer is printed along the bottom margin.
