A first edition, hardcover book (a) with a removable dust jacket (b), of Mama Dip's Kitchen by Mildred Council. The jacket cover features a circular color photograph portrait of Council wearing a blue and white checked top with a white collar with blue zig-zag edging, and large rimmed glasses. Across the top in large blue lettering is [Mama Dip's / Kitchen], with slightly smaller red letters reading [Mildred Council] to the left of the photograph. At bottom left is smaller text reading [WITH / MORE THAN / 250 TRADITIONAL / SOUTHERN RECIPES]. The book begins with a dedication to Council's children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, a section of "Acknowledgments," an essay titled "Grace" and a biographical introduction to the author, titled "A Life of Cooking, 1938-1999." The recipes are divided into five sections: Breads and Breakfast Dishes; Poultry, Fish, and Seafood; Beef, Pork, and Lamb; Vegetables and Salads; Desserts, Beverages, and Party Dishes. There are black and white photographs of the Council family cooking throughout, along with orange illustrated graphics. There are 230 pages total.
