Patti LaBelle wore this shirt during her performance at the 7th Annual BET Walk of Fame in 2001 that honored her work as a legendary recording artist. The program featured LaBelle performing alongside her longtime collaborators Nona Hendryx and Sarah Dash for a Labelle reunion performance of “What Can I Do For You?” and “Lady Marmalade” with Mariah Carey, whom Patti brought on stage.
Description:
Custom-made blouse worn by Patti LaBelle. The blouse is made of a shiny gold, bronze, and black plaid lamé fabric. It has a v-neck with black lace trim around the collar that has been re-embroidered in an abstract pattern. Down the front center is a black zipper, starting at the neck under the lace collar. The exaggerated sleeves end in flared cuffs with a layer of black lace underneath. The back of the blouse is slightly longer than the front.
