Description:
An engraved portrait of five African American legislators from Reconstruction Congresses. Five head portraits are depicted in a staggered arrangement of decorative oval frames. From top left to right are: Mississippian Hiram R. Revels; Alabaman James T. Rapier; Mississippian Blanche K. Bruce; South Carolinian Joseph H. Rainey; and Mississippian John R. Lynch. At the bottom of the engraving in faded black ink is: [ENGRAVED BY W. WELLSTOOD & CO. NY.]. There are no markings on the reverse.
