Description:
A bonus episode of the Revision Path podcast, discussing the design of the feature film Black Panther. The episode begins with host Maurice Cherry advertising Facebook Design as one of the show’s sponsors. He also advertises jobs posted on the show’s Job Board, before advertising MailChimp and Hover as other sponsors.
At the beginning of the interview, Maurice Cherry invites the guests to introduce themselves. Paul Anthony Webb and Regine Gilbert mention that they are returning guests to the show, while Jordan Green admits that Jordan Green is a new guest. Cherry then briefly discusses Black Panther’s plot before asking each panelist to talk about what they like about the movie. Some of the topics they discuss in the interview include, the film’s use of color psychology, geometry, and typography; Hannah Beachler’s aerial reconstruction of Africa; the quality of the costume and makeup; Wakanda’s gesture-controlled technology; Afro-futurism; Pan-Africanism; the potential for black-owned businesses to benefit from the film’s release; as well as individuals involved in the sound production, such as Kendrick Lamar, Ludwig Göransson, and Baaba Maal.
At the end of the interview, the outro music fades it, Cherry thanks his panelists and asks them to tell the listeners where people can find them.
