Description:
Photograph in mat and frame of [The Sub-Committee of Management and Counsel of the Grand United Order of Odd Fellows (1907-1908)]. The photograph features five man standing in back and five men seated in front with their hands in their laps. From the label on the back of the photograph in printed text, the men are identified as [Seated from left to right: / Edward H. Morris, Counsel, Chicago, Illinois / Louis N. Parker, Deputy Grand Master, Little Rock, Arkansas / William L. Houston, Grand Master, Washington, D.C. / James F. Needham , Grand Secretary, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania / Benjamin J. Davis, Grand Treasurer, Atlanta, Georgia / Standing left to right: / W.W. Lawrence, Grand Director, New Bern, North Carolina / Julius C. Johnson, Grand Director, Jacksonville, Florida / A. T. Shirley, Grand Director, Herndon, Virginia / Thomas P. Woodland, Grand Director, New Orleans, Louisiana]. Houston is seated in the center in a more elaborate chair with scroll work decoration on the chair back and feet. All the men are wearing suit and ties except for the man seated on the left who is wearing a bow tie. The mat is white paper and has an inner border of ivory, brown, ivory, and white closest to the photograph.
