A color photograph of Casey Grant and Joann Mayes Horne being embraced by Reverend Martin Luther King, Sr, captured April 1979.
This small square photograph captures Delta Air Lines flight attendants, Casey Grant (left), and Joann Mayes Horne, seated on either side of civil rights activist and minister, Martin Luther King, Sr. They are captured in a room with a plain wall and small door visible behind them. Grant smiles at the camera wearing gold hoop earrings, gold necklaces, and her blue “Delta Cities” smock over a white collared shirt. Reverend King wears a dark floral necktie over a white shirt and a pinstriped suit jacket. Horne wears small stud earrings, a white turtleneck top, and her blue “Delta Cities” smock. In the lower right corner of the photograph in small white text is “APR / 79”. On the reverse of the photograph in blue and black ink are inscriptions that read: [Daddy King / Joann May’s / MARTIN LUTHER KING SR. / CASEY GRANT & JOANN MAYES / HORNE].
