Description:
Framed profile portrait of a woman in a pink dress from Mae's Millinery Shop. The woman is worked in paper, fabric, and lace on a black satin background. She is in profile with her face drawn in graphite on brown paper visible beyond the edges of her large sunbonnet. She wears a pelisse and a full tiered ruffle skirt made from pale pink satin. Her bonnet, neck, and waist are decorated with pink velvet flowers and cream lace. Her skirt is trimmed in lace and her foot, drawn on brown paper in graphite, is visible peeking out from the hem of her skirt. The portrait is inside a wooden frame painted silver and backed with brown pasteboard. A metal hook is at the reverse center top for hanging. A piece of tape with a handwritten note in black ink is adhered to the back that reads: "Mae Reeves gave / this to Donna Limerick / (in 1985) / As a Gift. It was / in her Hat Shop at / 41 N. 60th St / Phila. PA".
