Description:
Wide-brimmed sun hat designed by Mae Reeves made from tightly braided black cotton thread sewn in concentric circles. The hat has a high round crown with a short brim attached as one piece. Between this inner brim and a solid black outer brim are fifteen (15) circles made from black and white striped braided cotton thread. There are open gaps between the circles and the inner and outer brims. There is an interior hat band of black grosgrain ribbon. An ivory fabric designer label with black printed text is adhered to the proper back of the interior band that reads: "Mae Reeves / OF / PHILADELPHIA".
