A silver gelatin print depicting a black-and-white image of participants wading in the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool during the twentieth anniversary of the March on Washington, August 27, 1983. In the foreground of the image is a woman centrally depicted standing in the Reflecting Pool with her back to the viewer. The woman is wearing a medium toned short sleeve shirt and shorts. She is standing with her back to the viewer with her face turned in profile towards the left side of the image. She is facing a shirtless man who is leaning towards the water with his proper left hand on one hip and his proper right hand partially in the water. There is a diagonal line of six (6) fountain spouts spraying water extending from the right foreground to the left middle ground. Several more participants are standing behind the man and the woman in the water.
On the verso of the image are handwritten inscriptions that provide the image date, event information, location, image number, the name of the printer, and the signature of the donor. There are also two (2) stamp marks in black ink in the bottom right corner of the verso.
