Description:
A silver gelatin print depicting a black-and-white image of a group of students participating in the March on Washington, August 28, 1963. The male students are wearing white button down shirts, with dark ties and tie pins, while the female students are wearing white blouses and dark skirts. All of the students are wearing identical dark jackets with white seams. Visible on many of the jackets are small white patches with an anchor logo just below the proper right shoulder, and many of the students have letters patches on the sleeves of their jackets. In the background there is a large body of March participants in front of a line of trees.
On the verso of the image are handwritten inscriptions that provide the image date, event information, location, image number, the name of the printer, and the signature of the donor. There are also two (2) stamp marks in black ink in the bottom right corner of the verso.
