Description:
This black-and-white photograph attributed to Justus C. Swan has a full-length portrait of an unidentified woman standing at a quarter-turn to her left. She gazes in that direction with her head turned nearly in profile. She is wearing a dark-colored floor-length skirt and a knee-length jacket with leg-of-mutton sleeves. A light-colored sash is around her waist and she has a ruffled light-colored collar. Her right hand is in her jacket pocket and she holds a small, shiny object in her gloved left hand. A fur stole is draped around her neck and shoulders, and she wears a short top hat. The photograph is mounted on off-white pasteboard with the name of the photographer and the studio location printed below the photograph. The reverse is blank.
