Soul Force newsletter, volume 4, number 6. The newsletter is printed on newsprint paper with black type. The newsletter is folded together but not stapled. The front cover features an image of a graduation procession with the male participants lined up, side-by-side, in pairs. One man at the front of the procession wears a doctoral gown with three bars on the sleeves, a tam with tassel, and a medallion pendant. The rest of men are depicted wearing graduate gowns and mortarboard caps. A few are also wearing hoods and other types of academic regalia. Printed in the top third of the front cover is the masthead on the left that reads, [SOUL / force], and the date on the right that reads, [JUNE / 1971]. The back cover is formatted like a post card, with a a pre-registration form for the 14th Annual Southeastern Christian Leadership (SCLC) event. The newsletter is fifteen (15) pages and includes articles and black-and-white images throughout. Articles include: [Did You / Know?], [Politics ‘72], [Let Them Eat Lead], [The Nixon Court], [BUDAPEST], [Angela Davis], [1972: Power to the Young People], [South Africa], [Drew, / Mississippi], [South, / Summer ‘71], [Plenty Left of SCLC], and [The Government / vs. / The New York Time / (and freedom)]. The article titled "Drew, Mississippi," recounts the murder of Jo Etha Collier, a high school student and track and field athlete, by three white men. Printed on page fifteen is a tentative agenda for the SCLC’s 14th Annual Convention. The first page, located on the interior of front cover, lists the Editorial Board members, editorial staff names, and press names, along with the volume and issue number.
