An issue of Black Enterprise magazine, December 1973, Volume 4, No. 5. The front cover is black and has white type at the top that reads: [December/1973 / BLACK / ENTERPRISE]. Next to the white type, yellow type reads: [Black Africa on the / Road to Economic Takeoff]. Underneath the text, there is a color photograph of Thomas A. Wood in a suit and tie placed in front of three cabs for semi-truck style automobiles (one is red, one is yellow, and the one furthest in the background is a light blue). White type in the bottom left corner reads: [Thomas A. Wood / Pioneer of Afro-American / Black Business]. The corners of the image are curved. There is a piece of clear tape with a black in stamp that reads: [GLENVILLE BRANCH] across the top of the image. There is also a black ink stamp, stamped diagonally across the picture to the right of Wood's head that reads: [CANCEL]. The interior pages, seventy-two in total, are off-white paper with black type, and both black-and-white and color images and drawings. There is a folded calendar inside the magazine, sponsored by [Eastern / The Wings of Man], between pages forty and forty-one. The magazine contents include economic articles, articles about Africa, and advertisements. The back cover is an advertisement for Benson & Hedges 100's cigarettes, and has a color image of a woman smoking a cigarette with the top bent upwards, holding a cardboard box with three puppies in it. White type above the box reads: [America’s Favorite Cigarette Break].
