Description:
A brass cornet made by Olds Ambassador and owned by Maxine Sullivan. The body of the cornet (2013.46.29.1.1a) is brass with a straight bell and three (3) valves with green felt pads. The ambassador model is manufactured by F. E. Olds. The cornet has [OLDS / AMBASSADOR / FULLERTON / CALIF] inscribed at the base of the bell. The number [997566] is inscribed on the second valve. The finger ring for the pinky of the right hand is silver. The mouthpiece of the cornet (2013.46.29.1.1b) as a conical backbore and appears to be silver plated. [Olds 7C] is inscribed on the cup, below the rim.
