Description:
Nine patch quilt with a primarily red and black color scheme, including red and black printed stripe sashing between the thirty-six (36) blocks. The blocks are made from fabrics in several colors and fibers, including printed and woven cottons, synthetics, and fiber blends. The blocks are surrounded by a border made from the same fabric as the sashing, then a second wide border made from solid red fabric. The outer border is turned to the back and sewn down to form the binding. A layer of polyester batting is placed between the top and the back, with the back made from plain muslin. It is hand quilted in white thread in several patterns: outline of the nine-patch blocks, fans in the horizontal sashing, twined vine in the vertical sashing and inner border, scalloped lines with fans in the outer border.
