Description:
Black necktie with beading worn by LaMonte McLemore of The 5th Dimension. The front of the tie and the knot are hand-beaded in a design of diagonal lines and zig-zags with gold and black beads. The faux necktie is constructed for use as a stage costume and does not actually tie around the neck. The blade and the band portions are sewn at the top to a faux knot. Two short, thin pieces of the black fabric extend from the top of the faux knot and fasten to the shirt (.2) with a male metal snap at each end. The thin pieces do not show when worn as they are under the collar of the shirt. The blade and the tail are lined in black synthetic satin. There is a hole cut into the tail approximately eight (8) inches from the faux knot, likely to fasten the tail around a button on the shirt. The tail is tacked to the blade with black thread.
