This is a very rare guide to hotels and guest houses for African-Americans during the Jim Crow era, stamped for “The Allen Hotel, Kentucky’s finest hotel for colored guests,” in Louisville, KY. The guide unfolds to 17x21.5" map of the eastern half of the U.S. indicating places to stay and including listings in Canada, Hawaii, Mexico, the Caribbean, Cuba, Haiti, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.
