Summary:
This is an early home-made tracking device from the 1950s made by an unknown individual. It has a sighting rod, azimuth and elevation indicators, for tracking flying model rockets. It is made of wood, metal, and plastic.
G. Harry Stine, one of the American pioneers in the field of flying rocket models, donated the artifact to the Museum in 1973.
