Summary:
This communications carrier is a replica of those used during the Apollo era, and was affectionately known as the "Snoopy Cap" from its resemblance to a famous cartoon character of the era.
It was constructed of an elastic center portion with Teflon fabric sides containing the communications equipment and mouthpiece. It fastened beneath the chin and was worn through the launch sequence, while in the lunar module, and on the lunar surface.
Transferred from NASA to the Museum in 1976.
