Black leatherette ledger book for the seed merchandt "D. Rusconi."
Label Text:
Ledgers were important to the florists, nurserymen, and seedsmen that operated in the 1800s and 1900s, before the digital age. They allowed businesses to quickly access all expenditures and income. The ledger showed what, to or from whom, and why money was owed to a business. Through the ledger businesses were also able to review what aspects of the business were making or losing money and where they could be more competitive in their pricing. These books were key to the success of any business.
