Description:
Molded box of compressed form with short foot, slightly recessed base, covered by a lid with flat top.
Clay: creamy grey stoneware.
Glaze: dark brown, low gloss, opaque on outside of box and edges of lid, leaving center of lid unglazed. A thin layer of caramel glaze covers the interior of the box; inside of the lid, flange, foot and base are unglazed.
Decoration: the lid is decorated with a medallion stamped with two floral sprays inside a circular frame textured by slanting lines.
