The bronze was purchased as a complete object but when the container was opened the object was found in several pieces. Examination showed that the vessel is made of old and new parts and that the joints were cleverly concealed with plaster and false patina. Analytical and corrosion product studies were made in the original parts. Some of the original fragments have been cut up to furnish samples for metallographic mounts.
Item is in several pieces lettered: D, F, H, K, plus 1 large piece not lettered, 1 curved piece not lettered, a tubular piece not lettered, and 2 small fragments also not lettered.
