The artist's inscription at the end of the painting gives the title (in clerical script) Song he yun tao (billowing clouds in a pine valley) and states that the work is done in the manner of the Yuan painter Lu Guang (14th century). Near the front of the painting there is a quatrain in seven-character meter written by the Qianlong emperor (r. 1735-1796), dated in the autumn of bingxu (1766). 雲若流泉松若藻,天開奇想妙難摹。漫言世上無斯境,覿面山莊似此夫。
