Description:
Pottery with "three-color" glaze.
Clay: medium soft whitish buff pottery.
Glaze: transparent, finely crazed, over green, yellowish brown and white. Head and flesh areas unglazed with traces of pigment, slight earth adhesions.
Label:
Two painted figures of dancers similar in style to this were excavated from a tomb in Luoyang constructed in 701. Part of a group of forty-two ceramic figures in that tomb, the two dancers were placed alongside the coffin platform in the central burial chamber.
