[1] Curatorial Remark 2 in the object record states: “Said to have been in the collection of the Viceroy Tuan Fang [Duanfang] and to have been excavated in Sianfu [Xi’an], Shensi [Shaanxi].” However, note that Curatorial Remark 5, William B. Trousdale, 1964, in the object record, states: “This piece is not illustrated in the catalogue of the Tuan Fang [Duanfang] collection (T'ao chai ku yu t’u [Taozhai guyu tu], Shanghai, 1936).”
