Light gray clay. Concentrically trimmed base. Two lugs on shoulder. Iron glaze, appearing blackish brown where thick, rust brown where thin, splashed with amber-colored ash glaze on neck and handles. Inside unglazed.

Yamanaka & Company maintained branch offices, at various times, in Boston, Chicago, London, Peking, Shanghai, Osaka, Nara, and Kyoto. During the summer, the company also maintained seasonal locations in Newport, Bar Harbor, and Atlantic City.
