Abstract:
John Brooks Henderson, Jr., a diplomatic advisor to China, was a shell collector. Interested in the marine shell life of the West Indies, he participated in several expeditions to the Caribbean. His collections were donated to the United States National Museum. He did volunteer work in the Division of Mollusks in his spare time, and wrote several articles for the Proceedings of the United States National Museum and Bulletin of the United States National Museum. The field book includes notes on specimen collection in Jamaica. They are dated from December 9, 1893,to January 2, 1894.
