The negatives document Neal Smith's work studying birds and insects in Panama during 1986. Negatives are stored in sleeves that are headed with date, photographer, and remarks (subject matter and type of bird). The images show birds in trees, crane elevator used to reach birds and their nests, and bird courtship. Some images were likely taken at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute.
