The color slides document the field work of Neal Smith studying gulls Nunavut, Canada, circa 1959-1961. The slides are stamped with the date developed, and contain varying levels of description. Description usually contains location information, subject matter, or identifier. Images show campsites, candid images of colleagues (e.g. meals together), terrain, specimen collecting, vegetation, marine mammals, as well as birds and eggs collected.
Many of SIA's holdings are located off-site, and advance notice is recommended to consult a collection. Please email the SIA Reference Team at osiaref@si.edu.
