Abstract:
The data sheets contain description of ectoparasites collected from birds and their vicinity for the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program during 1963 to 1966. Sheets are pre-printed and list varying types of information. Most include host (scientific name), field no. (e.g. 0001), date, sex, locality, and information in a table format listing body regions [of host], mites, ticks, and mallophaga. Also includes comments that provide additional information about how specimen was collected, e.g. "flushed out nasal cavity." Locations include at sea, and numerous islands in the Pacific Ocean.
