Abstract:
The notebook documents the fieldwork of Everett D. Jackson at the Stillwater complex in Montana, June 26 - August 2, 1954. The volume begins with a table of contents that lists page number, description, date, and specs. (appear to be specimen numbers e.g. 54PS-1-3). Description covers location information and sometimes type of work. Entries are dated, headed with names of team members, location information or routes. This is followed by narrative style content describing route traveled, observations of terrain, composition of ground including types of minerals, photographs taken, specimens collected. There are references to chromite and drawings of geological characteristics. Appears that some entries may been recorded by another author. Locations include but are not limited to Mt. View cliff, Stillwater west divide, and vicinity of Prairie Dog Creeks.
