The field book documents the work of Robert Neuman in Great Smoky Mountains, April 7 - August 30, 1950. On the second page is a map color key. Entries are dated, headed for location (landmarks, distance from), and describe field work sites. Description includes weather, location identifiers, geological characteristics (color, composition), depth, elevation, geological sections, fossils present, hand drawn maps, diagrammatic maps, and drawings.
