The notebook documents the work of Ellis Yochelson in New Jersey, California, Oregon, Australia, Montana, 2000 - 2001. The volume begins with an overview of travel and purpose. Entries are dated and narrative in structure. They describe travel details, daily activities, expenses, meetings, colleagues with whom met, weather, notes on fossils, sketches of terrain, and field work. Descriptions of field work cover location (sometimes latitude and longitude), geological characteristics, numbered locations, and photographs taken. Field work locations include but are not limited to the vicinity of Meekatharra, Australia; Montana, United States.
