The notebook documents the work of Ellis Yochelson, in midwestern states, Canada; Massachusetts, August - December 4, 1990; Soviet Union, July 9 - 31, 1991. Entries are dated and narrative in structure. They describe expenses, travel details (e.g. mileage), weather, daily activities, colleagues with whom worked, sites visited, observations of terrain, notes on fossils, and sketches of terrain.
