The notebook documents the work of Axel A. Olsson in Panama, 1961. Begins with entries relate to his study of specimens in Panama, including reference to publications and other researchers' collecting trips to Panama. This is followed by his notes from his own fieldwork during May 1961. Entries are headed by location described, and content is narrative in structure and sometimes include lists of fossils present and identified. Locations include Gatun Spillway and Devil's Beach.
