The notebook documents the field work of William A. Oliver in Indiana, Kentucky, September 24 - October 3, 1957, and southern Ontario, Canada, July 14 - August 1, 1958. Entries are dated, and organized by locality. Entries are headed with location information, such as name of quarry, local or geographic landmarks, vicinity of town, followed by descriptions of numbered sites or geological sections with notes. Descriptions include measurements, color, composition, presence and type of fossils.
