The notebook documents the geological field work of William Oliver in New York, July 1 - July 5, 1956. Entries are dated, and organized by "loc" number. Entries include location information such as geological or local landmarks (e.g. Buttermilk falls of Oatka Cr, Churchville quad), description of site studied, including descriptions of layers (measurements, presence and type of fossils, and characteristics). Locations include Churchville, Phelps, and Leroy quadrangle.
