Abstract:
The field book documents Frank C. Whitmore's field work during August 1960 - February 1969. Pages are numbered (1 - 44). Entries are dated and headed with location. Entries include sections with depth, layer characteristics (color, composition, presence of shell bed), specimens found; additional locality information including zone number and formation name; notes about sites introduced by local inhabitants. Includes some specimen numbers. There are descriptions for numbered core samples. There are notes from an "expedition" taken June 1963, listing names, some expenses and travel details. The notebook includes miscellaneous notes: contact information, lists of expenses. Locations include but are not limited to Chickasaw Creek; Littleton, Colorado; Alabama; Florida; Maryland; Virginia.
