Abstract:
This is the second of two field books documenting Remington Kellogg's field work in Hatteras, North Carolina, during 1927-1928 when he was an assistant biologist for the U.S. Biological Survey. The field book includes details about expenses, commercial value of processed porpoise including body oil, measurements, and drawings. There is a table of porpoise measurements (6 kinds), preceded with an explanation of how measurements were completed. There are several sketches and drawings of porpoise and parts of their anatomy with notations. One drawing is a loose insert. Much of the notebook is blank.
