Abstract:
The black-and-white photographs document field work completed during the Southern Island Cruise 1 on Baker's Island, March 1963. Images have captions on the reverse side, listing location, date, description, negative identifier, and sometimes photographer. Subject matter includes island terrain (coastline, interior, beaches), Noddy Tern colony, structures on island (lighthouse, end of runway, ammunition dump), hermit crabs, and vegetation (types indicated).
