Abstract:
The envelope of black and white photographs documents field work on Sand Island for the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program, September 14 - October 5, 1968. There are captions on the reverse side of photographs listing date, location, direction, and description. Descriptions include identification of plants and island landmarks in vicinity. Subject matter covers island terrain and numbered study plots. Captions list number, type and age of birds present (Sooty Terns, Buhwer's Petrel, Sandpiper).
