The diary primarily documents Andrew Caudell's work during January 16 - December 24, 1923. Dated entries are typed, with handwritten notes. They describe daily work including specific determinations, insects found in museum, interactions with colleagues, personal activities, and field work completed in vicinity of District of Columbia, including Maryland and Virginia. Field work entries include location, type of collecting, environment, type of insect and appearance.
