Abstract:
This item consists of a folder of data collected at sea by Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program staff, on the Eastern Area Cruise 24, 1967. Materials include: bird observation data sheets, ship weather observation sheets, and fix data sheets. Bird observation sheets include time, species, #, dir., specimen or band no., and remarks. Remarks include physical descriptions of birds (colors, size, maturity), flock size, and behavior (sitting on water, feeding, calling, etc.). Ship weather observation data sheets include: date, time, winds, visibility, weather, barometer, temperature, clouds, sea water temp., sea waves, and swell waves. Fix data sheets include: ship, date, sunrise (time, lat., long.) sunset (time, lat., long.), total miles traveled, position (time, lat., long), and course or speed change. Also included is a typed photocopied preliminary report.
